Can you embed a live webpage into a pdf?

I am wondering if it is possible to have a button that would link to a live webpage that could actually show up and appear within a page in a pdf document.

Is this possible at all?

Thanks!
Robert

Yes, in fact there are examples of the Rich Media annot used to display google maps. Its all in the Flash, the Rich Media Annot just plays what's there.

Thom,

Thanks for replying. I am not Flash person but will do my best.

Can you explain where I would learn about the use of Flash Rich Media Annot to display this data?

1. What steps do I need to complete to embed the HTML information into the Flash?

2. Do I have to use flash and somehow load the HTML in?

3. I assume I use the Multimedia tools in Acrobat to then load the Flash FLV file?

To a Flash/Flex developer this is a trivial issue, displaying an HTML page. But if you are not a flash developer it is impossible to do on your own. It requires flash/flex development tools and the skills to use them. So your best bet is to find a SWF (not FLV) that already displays a web page of your choosing. I don't know if such a SWF exists, and is available, but it wouldn't surprise me if you could find a free download on the internet. This is a Flash/Flex issue. It's got nothing to do with PDF.

Once you have such a file it's a simple matter to load it into an RMA in a PDF. To do this use the Rich Media tool in Acrobat 9 Pro. This site is chuck full of tutorials and videos on Rich Media.

Here's a place where you may be able to find the SWF you need.
