Embedded movies

I am trying to embed a swf file (created with Captivate) in my PDF (Acrobat Pro 8). It appears fine but only plays the first "slide" before going black again. Do you have any suggestions?

Try selecting "application/futuresplash" from the Content Type.

Lee,

I'm using the new Acrobat 8 3D and having a similar issue. Where is the "Content Type" menu? I don't see that nor application/futuresplash.

Here's my particular issue:

Embedded swf displays as black rectangle instead of "poster" in Acrobat 8 3D.

I embedded a swf movie (from Captivate 3) into Acrobat 8 3-D, but it displays as a black rectangle in Acrobat, and a blank white area in Adobe Reader 8. The movie does play, but I'm trying to figure out why, if I have the poster setting correctly in Acrobat, I get the black rectangle and not a graphic of the first slide of the movie.

Thanks,

Gina

Hi Gina,

I believe the poster is retrieved from the first frame of the SWF but did experience the same problem. However, as a best practice I always use a selected image for the poster so I can be certain of the content. I'll see if I can't escalate the issue & get some more detail for you.Lee.

Hi. I also am seeing the black screen when I edit and plain white when I re-open the file and view the file. And when I did try to embed an image (.png), it turns it 90 degrees clockwise from what the image looks like in Fireworks (in other words, Acrobat flips the image itself...I didn't do it). I cannot find a way to rotate the static image, otherwise this would be a great solution. Help!
