Hi Experts ,
I am trying to search on web for past two weeks about "How to embedd SVG in PDF". Unfortunatly I am not able to locate any information but in mean time I found tat Kurt foss was the guy who wrote plugin to embedd SVG in PDF but that pluging is not available any where. Even I found a sample pl script by "Kevin Lindsey" to embedd SVG into PDF using "alternate presentation/slideshow" , but this script does not show how to position the SVg image at specified location in the document. My questiion is How I can embedd SVG ( XML ) into PDF and how I can position a specific location inside PDF programatically.i.e what all PDF tags I need to use for this. I have licenced copy of Acrobat 6.0. If get some information about plugin by kurt foss on embedding SVg into PDF also will be of great help. Thanks and regards Rajiv Malhotra

Four years ago--the Acrobat 6.x era--I wrote a brief news item *about* such a plug-in that had been developed by Leonard Rosenthol, who made it available for download. But I have no further information about any continuing development. Perhaps Leonard, who's now an Adobe employee, can chime in.

Former editor and writer for PDFZone and Planet PDF, and currently the editor of AcrobatUsers.com, Kurt Foss' career with Adobe Acrobat and PDF began with version 1.0.

That functionality was something experimental in Acrobat 6, and was removed by Adobe in Acrobat 7.

At this time, there is no support for "SVG in PDF" with Adobe Acrobat or the PDF Specification in general.

Experts , Thanks for the information. PDF spec 1.6 section ( 9.4 Alternate Presentations ). This section has Example 9.1 page 745 that talks about SVG. I have pasted that example below from the PDF specs. As per your information about SVG not supported in PDF I am little confused about the information in specs. Should I consider this section as outdated w.r.t to SVG. and should not put further effort in exploring SVG in PDF.

Thanks and Regards Rajiv

Example 9.1 in PDF spec 1.6:

1 0 obj

...
3 0 obj % The name dictionary

endobj
4 0 obj % The alternate presentations name tree

endobj
5 0 obj % The slideshow definition

...
31 0 obj

endobj
32 0 obj % The embedded file stream

stream

endstream
endobj
% ... other objects not shown
