I’m hoping that someone can help with some information regarding pdfs. I’m trying to get a pdf with embedded video to play said video when its opened in Adobe digital editions reader. The placeholder for the video with a play button is visible but it won’t play. It works fine in acrobat reader so I’m wondering if I’m missing a basic step in the distilling process. I’m using Acrobat 9 Pro on a mac, thanks.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 9.3.1, Macintosh

Different products, different features. Digital Editions is for reading eBooks.

"Adobe® Digital Editions software offers an engaging way to view and manage eBooks and other digital publications. Use it to download and purchase digital content, which can be read both online and offline. Transfer copy-protected eBooks from your personal computer to other computers or devices. Organize your eBooks into a custom library and annotate pages. Digital Editions also supports industry-standard eBook formats, including PDF/A and EPUB."

Adobe Digital Editions is not Acrobat. Follow the link and then you will find a link to the Digital Editions forum, maybe someone there can help you.

alright, my goal is to have a pdf with embedded video play on an iPad. Can it play as a pdf or do I need to save it as something different?

iPads do not support JavaScript by Apple's choice. PDFs are very crippled on the iPad because of this.
