Acroabt 9.41 Trust manager and PDFs hosted from local file server

I'm beginning the creation of a package of adobe acrobat standard 9.41, but during testing keep getting a prompt opening pdf's off a locally mapped network drive. The message is "the document is trying to connect to file:///X|...bla.pdf If you trust the site, choose allow. If you do not trust the site, choose Block. This happens on any PDFs on the network drives, but only when opened with the browser, IE6 sp2. If I open the same PDFs directly through acrobat 9.4 this message does not come up. I've tested on an XP64SP2 and (32bit) XPSP3 and both behave the same way. Does our local file server need to appear as a trusted site, in some way, to the browser or something to prevent this? Or is there a more elegant way to manage it?

My Product Information:
Acrobat Standard 9.4, Windows

I've additionally tested with IE 7 and various methods of adding file/folder paths to the privileged locations and keep getting the same prompts. It is definately something in relationship to IE. Any feedback or advice would be awesome.
