Acrobat Pro & security

I use Acrobat Pro 8 with liveCycle Designer

After applying the latest update 8.1.2 every time I try to add a password security the program crashes. Now I remember why I wasted my time disinstalling & reinstalling the original boxed product which worked !

Any ideas? Having just this basic level of security to prevent changes is very important to me as I send out samples to potential clients for my forms.

Thanks in advance

Nick

I'm using 8.1.2 and I'm not seeing this problem. I've tried it a few different ways. What are the security settings you are using?

This could be something that is unique to your system setup. Unfortunately Acrobat tends to be sensitive to it's environment. Lots of bugs have been reported for environmental issues.

What OS are you using?

Thanks for your response. Just XP home edition. In fact I uninstalled the update - went back to the boxed version - and now the security works 100% !
