Error during Document Comparison, stating that there are "security settings which prevent comparison". Googled this error, searched the forum, nothing found.

1. Both documents being compared have "No security" as their security settings property.

2. One pdf was created by AA9, the other by Abbyy Finereader 9, both OCRed from the same source .pdf image file created at 300dpi grayscale by AA9.

3. Comparisons between AA9 dox work OK.

Is this a false error message? Are comparisons between pdf's created by different programs not allowed?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Independent of the security question, comparison between scanned documents will never work very well because the scanned document is more or less an image of a page and two images of the same page, especially if generated by two different programs, will have all kinds of minor noise differences in them. Comparing the OCR's text is also prone to comparison problems because of OCR problems and font choices.

As to the security message, if there are really no restrictions, the message might be incorrect but trying to report that there isn't anything in the document that is comparable.

I'll see if I can at least see if your point is correct, maybe with some other comparisons. This feature is pretty useless if you're right.
