Digital Signature ignored?

Hi

sorry if this is a stupid question, but this is all new to me and I searched everywhere without success.

I received from a Supplier a .zip file which contains 2 files;
A12345.pdf (Invoice)
A12345.pdf.pk7 (Digital Signature?)

I open A12345.pdf using Adobe Reader 7.0 Version 7.1.0 and I do not see any information regarding an Electronic Signature.

I followed the "Set signature verification preferences" instructions in the online help and still see nothing :-(

Is a .pk7 not a Digital Signature?
Do I need a special plug-in?

Thanks in advance

Juan

The file sent along in the zip is a signature file, but it is not one created as a PDF signature in Reader or Acrobat. Some other tool was used that created the signature as a "generic" signature on the file (that is, the signature could be on anything). You'll need to ask whoever sent you the file what tool they used and how you should verify the signature.

This is not a stupid question! You might also suggest they use PDF signatures!
