I have created a digital signature from the advanced->preferences->security->new option. But when I click the sign icon and try to place a signature the signature creation wizard appears wherein I cannot insert my own graphic file and the aforesaid digital signature I have created cannot be used. I use Acrobat 8.0

Can you clarify how you have created the digital signature? Perhaps Advanced > Sign & Certify? By default Acrobat 8 does not have the menu that you mention. Are you using a 3rd party tool for your digital signatures?

Acrobat 8 Pro:
Edit > Preferences > Security
Create a new Appearance.

When signing, in the Security dialog - select the desired Appearance from the drop-down menu.

Can you explain what you mean by cannot be accessed? Do you not see the menu commands or are they grayed out?

Every time i go on to sign a document i click on the sign icon on the toolbar n the wizard asking me to create a new id or browse for an existing id pops up.But when i exercise the create new id option i do not find any field to insert my graphic file. the *.pfx file that gets created in the process is the only id file that i can find or use henceforth. Can you tell me that when i create an id file from edit->preferences->security where does the generated *.pfx file get stored. I cant find it anywhere on my computer.Thank you for helping me out.

Using Acrobat 8 Standard. I created a signature and it caused my email (Outlook 2003) to quit working. I found if I unchecked the the SSL box for POP3 and SMTP and changed the POP3 from 995 to 110 and SMTP from 465 to 25 it would work. I then deleted the signature and changed my email settings back, it then worked again. Why will my email not send and receive with an encrypted signature in Acrobat?

I too am having this problem the funny thing is that i have created a signature that works fine, but now i wish to create a second one.
I use the same steps to create it as the first the options are all the same but it does not appear in my list of signatures when i go to sign the document.
I jumped on another computer to create the signature and now get the above problem where acrobat 9 pro wants me to create a new id or add one from file!
Any help would be great.
thanks
