I generated a PDF file from a Word 2003 document, password-protected the PDF file and sent it to someone with Acrobat 6 Standard. The
individual was able to open the PDF file using the password, but when he tried to set the PDF file to "No Security" and save the file, he got the error "The document could not be saved. Bad parameter." Any thoughts?

What version was the PDF at when you sent it? Was there a Master/Rights password set to the document?

In general, the PDF will need to be at the same or lower version than 6 after the password has been applied and saved. Acrobat 7 has a habit of upping the version to PDF 1.6 (Acrobat 7) when applying security.

The workaround is to apply security then File | Reduce File (quick) size (or PDF Optimizer (more control)) the document back to Acrobat 6.

I hope this helps.
