Document Security changes btwn Professional 8 and Reader 8

I have created an unsecured document in Professional 8. The document has signature fields for completion by others.

I emailed this document to a user of Reader 8, who sees the signature fields, but cannot sign them because the document security has changed. The document Security Properties menu command show that the document may not be signed.

How does an unsecured document in Professional 8 change to a partly secured document in Reader 8, and how can I change this?

Reader always appears to have a secured PDF because Reader can not modify or save changed form PDFs unless extended rights have been granted to the PDF in question.

where are these rights granted? I certified a doc but enabled signature fields to be modified, but in reader no signature option appears.

One can use Acrobat 8 Professional, purchase the LiveCycle ES server, or pay a 3rd party to apply the Extended Rights to the PDF. This will not allow Reader to do all that Acrobat can and one may have to recode the JavaScript or change it's location.
