e-book (pdf) protection possible?

I've written an e-book and sell this book via the Internet (email attachment) as a pdf-file.

I'm afraid that the pdf-book will appear somewhere on the Internet and that anyone can download the pdf-file for free. Even a password-protection is not perfect because that can also be published together with the pdf.

What is the best solution for this problem? I also prefer a solution which doesn't take too much time every time I send the pdf. An automated solution would therefore be ideal.

Thank you very much!

Except if the password for opening the PDF is your customer's name or credit card number...

There's also an Adobe solution, called Digital Editions, which may solve your problem:
