Editting Signatures

I created my signature for Adobe 8 PDF documents a while ago. I am trying to go back and change some of the credentials I have after my name but can not figure out how to edit a previously created signature. I have even tried to create a new one but can't seem to figure out how to do that. I've looked all over the place and am pretty sure it is something simple but I can't figure out. Anybody know how I can go in a make changes?

Thanks!!!

Are you asking about changing the Signature Appearance to use when signing in the future or to modify previously signed PDF files?

Hi Cprescott,

I don't have Standard on my system, but in Acrobat Professional you can edit your dig sig by going to Edit->Preferences->General, select Security. In the right side panel you should see your previously created sig in the list box. Click the edit button to make changes from the Configure Signature Appearance dialog.Hope this helps,

For some reason I don't have that option. I go Edit->Preferences->Security and I don't see my signature at all in the box. I tried to create a new one and just use that from now on but after I created it it won't show on the list of signatures to choose from. I only can choose the old signature.

Hi Cprescott,

Odd that you can use the old signature and create a new one but they do not show up in the list at Preferences-General-Security. I'm not sure what the problem is- I created a new dig sig in Acrobat 8 Pro and all works and shows up in the list for me. Sorry.
Hope this helps,

Not that it helps a year later, but to create a new signature with your updated credentials (assuming you are using text and not an image) you need to select to Sign/Place Signature and when the Sign Document dialog box opens choose the drop-down button and select create New ID. I had trouble figuring this out as well, but finally I was able to add M.S. after my name. The only help I found through Adobe was what was already mentioned by going to Edit > Preferences > Security, but that does not do what I envisioned. Now I will calmly remove the pencil from my eye.

Hi,

I am trying to set images on pdf documents to disable images from being copied by the recipient. Using Adobe X.
