Enabling comments on secured documents @ Window7

Is enabling a secured PDF for commenting in Reader no longer supported by Acrobat Pro v.9?

I am able to do this on Windows XP with v.9 (as well as with v.8), but not on a Windows 7—which results in an error message that states it cannot be done because the file contains "extended Reader features" and instructs me to Save a Copy that won't contain these features (and commenting is one of them as I understand it).

(To be precise, I have Pro v.9.3.2 on both machines)

Thanks for your help!

Sounds like your file is already reader-enabled. The order in which you do the steps is important, first you set the security, then reader-enable your file. You can check the status of your file under File > Properties > Security tab. At the bottom of this dialog, you should see an asterisk if your file has been reader extended.
