Hi,

One of the user forgot his digital signature password.
Is it possible to reset / recover password of digital signature in Acrobat Pro v9.1?
Or what is the best thing that can be done in this case.

Your input will be very helpful.

Thank You.

Acrobat Pro 9.1.2, Windows

Unfortunately there is no way of retrieving the password as that is gone forever, but what you can do is delete it, you cant do this via the standard way by cllcking delete in the security options as it asks for the password, you have to do it round the back door! To this you need to find the .pfx file (this is the digital id that you are looking for, on the mac it is .P12 file), if you havent specified overwise it will be located in C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Adobe\Acrobat\9.0\Security\MYID.PFX( name of id is MYID etc here) and remove it,

quit acrobat and relaunch and it dissapears this works for definate on the mac but not tested it on the PC

hope it helps:-)

removing the .pfx file worked for me. I also manually added a new i.d. so I don't know if both of those actions are needed or one or the other will suffice.

I first went to Advanced, Security Settings, and manually added an i.d. in the Digital id's. I had the user try to sign again but it was still prompting for a password. We then went in and removed the .pfx file from his computer entirely. After doing this, we went back to the pdf and his i.d. now allowed us to digitally sign the pdf.

Hope this helps!
