inserting pages error

Simple enough task, but I either get the error "you do not have sufficient permissions to perform this task" when I try a "drag and drop" approach. When I go to the "options" side bar of the document, all of the tasks are "grayed out" so I can't insert pages that way. There is no security assigned to the document.

Thoughts anyone?

Are you running multiple versions of Acrobat/Reader? Did this start occurring after an installation of Reader/Acrobat? Have you tried running a Repair Installation within Acrobat?

What version of Acrobat/OS are you using? Do you have all the latest updates of Acrobat?
