kinda newbie Question: Signatures

I want to create a signature that looks just like my written signature for certain PDF docs.
I do not need the full "digital signature" but will use it if the only way.

I have scanned my written signature and sized it appropriately, used preferences to put it in as a signature, got rid of all the "common name, dignified name, time and place stuff and named it but when I create a signature box, the named signature is not seen as available.

I'm fairly sure I am making a simple error, but anyone with a fix or step-by-step would be appreciated.

If you just want to place the signature graphic into the document without actually "signing" it, you should make your scanned image into a dynamic stamp rather than a signature.

Menu- tools - comment and markup - stamps - create custom stamp

In the browse window, choose your image file (you'll need to change the file type from PDF to see it) - then give your stamp a name and a category and save it.

OK, that put me a couple of steps closer, but when I created the stamp, it is placed 90 degrees rotated clockwise and much larger than what I hoped for and must be dragged down to a manageable size.
Also, the "opacity" is an issue. I would like for the stamp background to be transparent so that the signature line on the original form is visible. The opacity adjustment seems to affect only the scanned image itself.
So---- How can I make the stamp background transparent, keep the image "upright", and have a default size that is manageable without dragging it down in size for the page?

I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9. It will not allow me to save a scanned PDF document with the same name. Our scanner is very sensitive and will sometimes scan the bleed-through back of a document. I want to delete the blank pages and resave the document with the same name. When I try to do this I get an error message saying "the file may be read-only or another user may have it open. Please save the document with a differnt name or in a different folder." I have tried to deterimine if there is a security or protection setting that I can change, to no avail. I did not have this problem in an earlier verion of Acrobat Pro.

I would appreciate any suggestions.
