Newbie question: What does "allow" creation of template pages mean?

I have a PDF form created in Word and ported to Acrobat 9.3.2. Form was created using the Form Wizard.

When I finished with the doc and turned off "Form Editing", I saved the doc with Password Security, and selected Allow Printing, and Allow Filling in Forms and signature. However, when I check the security properties, I see that "Creation of Templates Pages" is also allowed. I don't know what this means, but it sure sounds like someone could copy the whole thing and create a new document from it. Might not be a problem if all the security went along with it, but a big one if not. Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks!

PDF page templates were an early feature for creating dynamic forms. If you look on the "Advanced > Dcoument Processing" menu in Acrobat 9 you'll see an entry named "Page Templates...". This dialog can be used to turn any page into a Template. Then from JavaScript the template can be "Spawned" into new pages with unique form fields. Spawning a template requires special Reader Enabling to work in Reader, which is why they never caught on.Templates are also the mechanism used to create PDF Stamps. But that's a different thing.

Thank you! I checked it out on one of my protected documents, and Page Templates was greyed out, which is what I was hoping would be the case. I just didn't know where or what to look for!

What’s the “Page Template” equivalent to spawn a new page in Acrobat X?
