Hello.
I'm trying to delete some old digital id's created in previous versions of Acrobat.
I'm getting a message that says: "Removing a digital id is only permitted if the id was created in Adobe Reader or Acrobat version 8.0 or later."
Is there any way to bypass this and delete this old id's that I no longer need?

The id's are not being used by any other program.
They were originally created in Acrobat v6.

When you select Digital ID Files under the Advanced --> Security Settings menu there should be a location where the *.pfx file is stored:
c:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Adobe\Acrobat\8.0\Security\
Do you have access to this location? Can you see the *.pfx file?

Hi. I do have access to this location, but I do not see any .pfx files.
I checked the old v 6 folders and the curren v 8 folders.

Under the Advanced --> Security Settings menu, when you select Digital ID Files do you see the *.pfx file in that location?

Hi. I am able to see a list of id's under Advanced/Security Settings, and I guess they are .pfx, but there is nothing that I can see to confirm this, even when checking the Certificate Details and other options in that Security Settings area. Apologies for the confusion of my last post.

If they are Digital IDs created in Acrobat they should have the extension *.pfx or .p12. Do you see "any" extension on the files? If your ID was added to the Windows certificate store (not through Acrobat), it cannot be deleted directly from the Security Settings Console. You must be remove it from the Windows store by using an application such as Internet Explorer.
