Prevent email of PDF using Acrobat 9?

Hi There,

I see from earlier posts that it is not possible to restrict or disable the ability to email a PDF. At least not in Acrobat 8 or earlier.

We would like to prevent users from emailing a PDF once they have downloaded it to their desktops. Is this possible using Acrobat 9? Do you need LiveCycle?

Thanks,

No it's not, and it never will be. A PDF is a file like any other, and users can do with it whatever they wish. You can prevent unauthorized opening of the document, but not bit-level copying and distribution. The ISO PDF specification prevents any concept of the file being supplied in a non-cached stream, as is possible with audio and video.

Okay, thanks. It is just as I thought, but I wanted to confirm.
