Prevent Page Extraction in Acrobat 8.1

I would like to set security permissions to prevent page extraction from a password-signed file. In setting the options, the only option I have allowed is high-res printing, but it still always comes back with the option for page extraction showing as being allowed.

I want the person to be able to print a hard copy, but I *don't* want them to be able to pull parts of the document out through extraction and then have the capability to circulate it or store it unencrypted.

What am I doing wrong?

I have also tried certificate signing, but same issue... extraction still shows as being allowed.

HELP!! (thanks!)

You cannot seriously prevent page extraction if printing is allowed since one can print any page range using any virtual printer (like AdobePDF) to get a new PDF fileā€¦

I would have to disagree. I received a PDF file with password security, that allows printing but I cannot print to the PDF printer to simulate page extraction. When I try to print pages to a PDF, it goes through the motions but results in an error log as follows:

%%[ ProductName: Distiller ]%%
This PostScript file was created from an encrypted PDF file.
Redistilling encrypted PDF is not permitted.
%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%

I am not sure how this was done, but would like to be able to do the same. Any suggestions?
