I am new to all of this. I have a website that displays PDF's but I don't want anyone to be able to print or save them to their computer. I've seen some posts about password security, but I'm clueless on that as well. Please help!
To prevent printing of a PDF you can use Password Security. Under the Advanced menu (Acrobat 8) select Security --> Show Security Properties. Under the Security Method pull-down select Password Security. In the Password Security - Setting dialog check the box under Permissions, enter a password, then select None from the Printing Allowed pull-down menu. Click OK then save the PDF.
There isn't a way to disallow saving of a PDF from web since this is a function of the browser; however you can disable the toolbars in Acrobat when a PDF is displayed. For more information on this, visit the following URL: http://www.acrobatusers.com/forums/ask_an_expert/questions/view/2494/
