Protecting PDF from copying

Please pardon the simplicity of the information I am requesting. I do not know the appropriate search terms to use.

I am releasing, to the public, a manual as a PDF (on a USB drive). I want the purchaser to be able to print any portions of the manual as needed multiple (infinite) times, but I do not want the purchaser to be able to copy the manual and distribute it to others. Will any version of Acrobat allow me to prevent copying AND allow printing? Can you give me the name or term for what i am trying to do?
Thanks
Marshall

When you say copying, do you either mean you don't want that users can copy the PDF file from the USB stick or that no one can copy content out of the PDF file?

The security you can setup is to disallow the copying of content.
You cannot prevent that users copy the file.

As noted you can restrict copying of content with password protection within the PDF. This assumes the program accessing the PDF respects Adobe's password security within the PDF. There is also DRM, Digital Rights Management that can also restrict access to the PDF.
