Remove Certificate Encryption

I have recently placed certificate encryption on a document that really should have had password encryption. In order to not regenerate the document, is it possible to remove the certificate? I cannot find where to do this.

No, you can not remove the encryption.

Just go back to the original (unencrypted) PDF. You did keep a copy of it, right?
