I got a new laptop at work. For some reason the digital signature I created was deleted. Needless to say, I needed to create a new one. I had not done this in awhile and could not remember how I did it. While going thru all of this, I created multiple "appearance" files e.g. there are three files named "my signature".

How do I delete the multiple files/files I do not need?

If it is signature appearances, try Edit > Preferences > Security tab. You should see all the appearances listed there. Select one and click Delete. That should do it.If it is digital IDs you need to get rid of, try Advanced > Security Settings > Digital ID Files. Note that you are offered Detach File which takes the ID off the list but does not delete it. Note the file name before detaching and you can go and delete it there. You generally don't want to delete digital ID files because they contain the private key which is not recoverable once deleted. If it was created by mistake and not used, by all means, go delete it.
