signing multiple documents

As this is the security area i think it might be the correct venue for my question since it involves signature usage:

I am trying to sign a large number of documents with the same digital signature (in the same place on each document) without the rather time consuming process of opening each document, etc.

Im not all that familiar with adobes ability to accomplish this, though i have been told (by adobe tech support – even though they could not explain how to do it) and seen that it is something which can be accomplished.
If it would make the process easier, the source file can be either a .pdf or a .doc (maybe .docx ?)
Is there some macro (perhaps) i can run in order to sign the specified documents, or am i stuck with the tedium of signing them individually?

Cheers

This can be done via scripts. You'll need to be familiar with Acrobat JavaScript interfaces or find a developer who is. See http://www.adobe.com/devnet/acrobat/javascript.php and the security and signature-related objects in particular. Perhaps someone who has done this will post some tips.

after some considerable searching i did find an option which i think will work for us (and has been fairly robust thus far):
http://www.software602.com/

The scripting was what i was initially looking for, however the more i looked at it the more i found that the time and money involved to have someone write a reliable customized script would outweigh an OTS solution. While we have at least one person quite adept in java im not sure we have anyone in house who is familiar enough with acrobat to implement it correctly so this solution just makes sense for me.
