I have created a Index (PDF) and added links to corresponding Excel files. Is there a way to turn off the security message?

"The file and its viewer application are set to be launched by this PDF file. The file may contain programs, macros, or viruses that could potentially harm your computer. Only open the file if you are sure it is safe. If this file was placed by a trusted person or program, you can click Open to view the file."

The option to "Do not show this message again" does not work.

I am user Acrobat 9 professional. Thank you for any help.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 9.2, Windows

I faced exactly the same prob.
In order to have a cmd to close my PDF file & adobe reader app as well, I created a link to a batch file to kill adobe. I need the process to be transparent to my users but the security warning keeps appearing. Can someone pls advise us how the above warning can be suppressed?

Much appreciated!

Try checking your Trust Manager preferences under Edit > Preferences > Trust Manager. Specifically for "Allow opening of non-PDF file attachments for external applications".

Has anyone managed to solve this issue yet?

I am having the same problem. I have created a PDF index file in word which has hyperlinks to location on my computer but every time i click the link i have the message come up. If i tick the box which says "Do not show this message again" it will work until i close the file down? any ideas how i can sort this out?

P.S. i have tried looking in the Trust Manager Preferences and security setting on both pdf and word but no solution as of yet?

Kind Regards
