I created a "digital signature" containing an image file of my signature by going to Edit, Preferences, Security. I can see the digital signature there.

But when I try to sign a document, the "digital signature" does not show up in my "Digital ID" listing, and I have tried browsing and can't find it anywhere. Am I misunderstanding something? Is there a difference between the two?

The Edit > Preference > Security category allows you to create different appearances for your digital signature. To access this appearance when you sign a document use the pulldown menu next to the word Appearance: in the Sign Document dialog.
