Sign all pages of a document

I have a document that is separated into 23 categories. I would like to digitally sign the entire document and have the signature appear on each page? Can this be done or is there a better way to do what I want to do? I'm using Acrobat 8.0 Pro.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 8, Windows

You can't duplicate signature fields in Acrobat or create signature fields having the same name. I'm not aware of a solution for your task.

Hi Chris,

If you create a Signature field, Acrobat won't duplicate the Signature field using the Duplicate command. If you try to copy/paste the field, pasting doesn't work. If you try to manually create a second Signature field using the same field name, Acrobat prompts you in a dialog box informing you that the field exists with the same name and asks you to provide a unique name for the field.

This behavior is to prevent someone from signing one page and inadvertaantly signing a page one hasn't seen yet. The only way to add additional Signatiure fields is to create them with unique names requiring a user to sign each page individually.

I have Acrobat 7.0 Professional. Are you saying that you cannot digitally sign multiple pages at the same time? I thought you would do it by drawing a signature box and then right clicking and choosing the "duplicate" function and then choosing to have the signature block on all pages? If this doesn't allow you to sign multiple pages, what is the function of these commands?

I've tried to digitally sign multiple pages and read Ted's message to confirm that I cannot. However, in Adobe help, v.8 Pro, it says "Documents may contain signature fields on multiple pages. When you sign one field, your signature appears in all occurrences of the field, whether you approve those pages or not." (Search for "Before you sign a PDF" in Adobe help.) I would REALLY REALLY REALLY like for what used to be in the Help menu to be what happens. I also have documents where I need to sign every page, the signature is in the exact same spot on each page, and it's very time consuming going page by page, saving each time...

It's amazing how software can make smart people feel really dumb!
