Hello everybody, and in advance.. sorry for my poor english (I'm italian, living in Poland).
I'd like to know if someone of you tried to grab 3D terrain from GE, and transform it to PDF_3D.
My boss needed it, so by means of my Autocad Civil3D, and with this tutorial (http://www.david-laserscanner.com/wiki/making_a_3d_pdf) I made this area from Tatra Mountains (southern Poland):

Are there any ways, less complicated than mine, to get the same effect?

Using Google Earth in combination with Sketchup Pro you can save out a 3DS file
Dear Sir, you do not need the PRO version of Sketchup to grab terrain from GE and export it.The Geo-location tool, available in Free SU too, takes the mesh 3D in full color, then you may save it as Alias Wavefront format, with this:

and you can convert OBJ->U3D with DAZ Studio (freeware).Unfortunately, the area grabbed by Geo-location is very small, so I'll prefer to generate PDF_3D with my robust Autocad Civil.

Acrobat 9 Pro Extended (no longer on sale from Adobe but copies can be found via resellers).
Acrobat X Pro with the commercial Tetra4D plugin.

Alternately you can load the 3DS file into a 3D translation package (Deep Exploration, Okino PolyTrans, etc.) and export a U3D mesh, which Acrobat X Pro can import without the Tetra4D plugins.
