I'm reletatively new to using Acrobat Pro Extended.
Have created several 3D PDF files of various 3D AutoCAD objects including terrain surfaces with no trouble.

I have a 3D Powerhouse Model I am working on and the model contains some 3D shapes that were created using the AutoCAD "LOFT" command.
The 3D solids created using the LOFT command do not appear in 3D PDF.
I am using Acrobat Pro Extended 9.0 and AutoCAD 2009.

Are there any known issues on this subject.

I can provide a Portfolio file that would include the AutoCAD file, a result of the failed pdf from Pro Extended and a pdf that is just fine from a competitors application.

I assume you're importing direct to Acrobat from the original CAD file, and not going through an intermediate format such as 3DS or OBJ.

Although Acrobat Pro Extended supports import of many CAD and 3D file formats, it only supports certain elements within each format - basically things it can understand how to turn into polygonal geometry or NURBs. Often things like lofts and swept splines won't import as the interpreter either ignores that object type completely, or it imports the spline path but doesn't find the cross-section to sweep along it. It can also have problems with objects that aren't real copies (instances and references).

The usual fix is to convert everything problematic in your original file into static geometry (run CONVTOSOLID on it) rather than leaving Acrobat with a stack of drawing commands to interpret.

Yes I am importing direct to Acrobat from the original CAD file.

I'm disappointed with the limitations of Acrobat and the fact that lofts and sweeps won't import.
If I knew that before I bought Acrobat Pro Extended I would not have purchased it.

Lofted objects are solids and the CONVTOSOLID command does not do anything to lofted objects.

Now I feel like I wasted a ton of money and will not recommend Acrobat to anyone.

There are other competative software apps that interpret the AutoCAD geometry just fine, I guess Adobe is not interested in being competative.
