Unable to open scanned pdf

We are unable to open any scanned documents with any version (8 or 9) of Acrobat. It was scanned using version 8.0 Professional. We are using 9.0 Reader as well as 8.0 Professional to open and it will not open. We don't even get an error message. When you right click there are only a few options... Print, Open with Acrobat 8.0, Open With... and Send to. NONE of these options work. I have tried different versions of Adobe, different computer memory levels, different computers, even different programs to open the files...NOTHING. However, documents that were scanned just minutes earlier or later, are able to open. I have also tried opening with different programs to see if I can get anything to display. The bizarre thing is that not all of the pdf's are this way. We came across pdf's that were scanned just minutes apart and on will and one won't open. I have an entire department waiting for this to be resolved, any ideas?

Signed,
Frustrated and confused...

Acrobat Pro 8.0, Windows

Unfortunately I am unable to do that. The first reason is that I can't move, open, copy, or send the file, it will not do it. The second reason is that even if I could, I have HIPPA issues going on. These are patient documents. Sorry.
I am also unable to get to punbb.org (organization has the site blocked) to save a photo out there. I apologize for this, but I can tell you that this is very frustrating and I am not the only one in the organization that is having this issue. I an entire department that is trying to access these files and are all having the same issue. If there is any other information that I can provide to help figure this issue out, please let me know. I am on a deadline and really need this issue resolved.

After a ton of research and many extra hands and eyes, we actually found that the issue was related to the naming. The files were several layers deep and we had found that you can have only 252 characters per file...including all of the subfolders/files.

"File names are limited to 180 characters. Document titles, view names, document library names, and descriptions are limited to 252 characters. There are limitations on the overall length of the file path for a document, which includes all folder (directory) names containing the document, plus the file name of the document."

This was our specific issues and as soon as we changed various folder names, all was well and we were able to open up all of the documents :)
