ANYONE OUT THERE? :-) Hiding Comment List Pane on Intitial View

I have a form that was created in Live Cycle designer that I recently revised, and now the comments list is automatically opening at the bottom each time the form is opened. I've selected "Hide the comments list" (and re-saved the pdf.) which makes the box disappear from the current view, but it reappears the next time the form is opened. How can I set it up so the comments list doesn't appear each time upon opening? The document was already set up with the "Initial View" tab on "Page Only" for the Navigation Tab option. Thank you.

Hi RomaZimmerman,

Under Document Preferences in Acrobat do you have the "Restore Last View Settings When Opening Documents" checked?

Hope this helps,

Hi Dimitri:

I checked and the "Restore Last View Settings When Opening Documents" box is checked. Comment List is still showing on open! Any further ideas would be appreciated! Thanks,

Hi RomaZimmerman,

I should have added that you need to un-check that option- try that and see it fixes this issue. I tried this out and it works for me.

I do see that when you open a PDF with the Comments Panel open, then close the panel and re-open, Acrobat is for some reason ignoring that the Comments Panel was closed in the "last view." Not sure why Acrobat is behaving that way as it seems it should respect the fact you closed the Comment panel, but un-checking the "Restore Last View Settings When Opening Documents" fixed it for me.

Hope this helps,

Dimitri

How can I hide a markup or comments on a pdf to send to someone else? I want to keep the comments but hide them so this person doesn't see them, but I have to use them later on. I am just trying to hide the messiness also it is not quite necessary for the person to view them.

Thanks!
