Callout Tool with a number next to it

I'm using Acrobat Pro 7.x When I insert a callout tool and type my comment and drag my arrow accordingly, I notice a number inside a little white box associated with each of my callout tools. How do I hide/delete/move these little boxes that clutter and obstruct my document. My preference is to hide them.

Thanks,
bullfrog

I am having the same problem in general for any comment. In the older Acrobats there used to be an option whether or not to number Comments. Now they are there and I cannot get rid of them. Using 7.0.9 on Windows XP.

I am also having the same problem in that comment sequence numbers are displayed by default (also using Acrobat 7.0.9). Would love to know how to hide them!

Hi SWARING.

I "fixed" my problem by uninstalling 7.0.9, then re-installing the 7.0 software from the disk. I had hoped that the updates bringing it to 7.0.9 might do the trick, but they did not. If history is a guide, then after a few weeks the sequence numbers will again, magically, appear; and I will again repeat the installation cycle. I have followed this circular process repeatedly since upgrading to V 7. I wish I still had the older version; at least in the older versions one could turn the feature on and off.
