Change Sharepoint to open pdf from Reader, not in a web browser?

I see from posts that the Comments toolbar is not available if an Adobe Professional 8 pdf (that is held in a Sharepoint folder, so Internet Explorer is already in use) opens in a web browser window. (Exasperated - why not - other tools display??!)

Can you change the Adobe plug-in or do something so that the comments toolbar works in the web browser, please?

I want to enable comments (Advanced, Enable Usage Rights in Reader) AND most of all, allow digital signatures from reviewers.

I really need answers to the above urgently, so I hope someone can help.

Thank you very much.

Unfortunately the comments toolbar will only appear in the browser if you utilize the "Shared Review" capability in Acrobat. This process "triggers" the menus to appear. If you use a separate PDF for approval (digital signatures) are you able to get the "Shared Review" feature working with your Sharepoint folder? Here is the link to the Online Collaboration Setup and Administration Guide (also listed under this forum's FAQ) that might help as well:
