The v8.0 textbox tool creates RED font. I cannot change it to BLACK. I implemented the Adobe TechNote which said to delete the cAnnots registry key, but this had no effect. Please advise.

Open the Properties Bar (context menu option from a context menu opened on the Toolbar Well) and change the text color from the Text Color drop down menu.

I can find this option in 7.0, but it doesn't appear to be available in 8.0. The properties bar is blank.

The work around I found is to paste the text into Word, change the color to black, and then paste it back into Adobe.

hapernicus,

In Acrobat 8 (Standard - Pro - 3D),
Double click inside the text box to put focus there.
Select the text.
Open the "Properties Bar".
View > Toolbars > Properties Bar
The Properites Bar provides access to control of the text color, justification, font, font size, and font style.

Acrobat Pro 8.1.3
When I am working in a PDF and insert a Text Box with the Text Box Tool, I can insert my text, change font, etc. Sometimes I cannot change the font, border color, etc. The usual font, border size/color commands are not enabled, but grayed out....sometimes if I close the document and re-open, it is enabled. Is this a software glitch?

Sorry folks, this "fix" doesn't work in Adobe Acrobat 9.4. I can change the color of the textbox frame but not the font color. This is maddening!!!

Okay.

However, using 9.4.5 I've no problem using the Properties Bar to alter text in a text box placed with the tool off the Comments & Markups toolbar. Double click on some text to get focus applied. Ctrl+E to open the Properties Bar (or have the Properties Bar already open). Apply desired changes selected off the Properties Bar to selected/highlighted text. The key is to get focus in on the text. It may help to increase the page magnification.

By the way; what's describe is a designed in feature rather than a "fix".

In addition to turning on the Properties toolbar (View > Toolbars > Properties Bar), YOU MUST HAVE THE HAND TOOL SELECTED!This was driving me crazy, too!

Using Acrobat Pro 9.4.5.

I am working in Acrobat 8.0. I have the hand tool selected. I select the text and view the properties bar, and I have NO options. I am ready to scream. Any other suggestions?

I was so frustrated, I closed the document. I reopened it and now can view my text properties. I have no idea why, but I sure am glad.

Lisa, you have to make sure that the text box is set to have Rich Text Formatting.
