Hi there. I've used the Highlighting Tool in my pdf papers. Is there any way to export all the highlighted items from my pdf and generate for example another pdf. It would be nice the formating of the text (from the original pdf document) will be presented. Thx in advance for any help.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 8.1.2, Windows

If you have the following Preference set when creating your comments: Edit --> Preferences --> Commenting "Copy selected text into Highlight, Cross-Out, and Underline comment pop-ups" you can write all the comments to a separate file with a Batch Sequence. There is an example of this type of Batch Sequence at:

I use Adobe to scan site plans and property surveys, which I can then annotate by making some features bolder (property lines, edges of ponds, etc.). Adobe Acrobat 6 was very intuitive, efficient and robust, allowing me to trace a pond and "fill" the interior with blue at varying opacity by just altering the created object's properties. Eliminating writing or markings from the scanned original was done easily by just putting a white rectangle or circle over it. Text boxes with arrows were much easier to insert than "call-outs", which are seemingly impossible to reformat. The wonderful old annotation capability seems to have been lost with Adobe Acrobat 7 and 8, which is very annoying since these versions deleted my installed version of Adobe Acrobat 6. The new, "upgraded" cropping function is also much harder to use and sometimes doesn't work at all.

Is there a secret to getting the same usability out of Acrobat Pro 8 that I got from versions 6 and earlier. If not, how can I install version 6 back on my computer without damaging links to my printer and browser?

Please reply ASAP, I have been struggling for days with something that would have been doable in minutes with earlier versions.

The trace capability you mentions sounds a lot like a feature found in Photoshop. Were you by chance selecting graphic objects and then editing them in Photoshop? If so you can still do this by using the Touchup Object tool.

Using Text boxes can be a lot easier if you have the Properties (ctrl + e) toolbar open. This allows you to quickly change properties such as fill and border colors.

If you do reinstall version 6, you'll want to uninstall version 8 first -- it's not recommended to run both on the same machine.
