Hello.
When I select Document / Export Comments to Word, I get error pop up "This operation requires Microsoft Word 2002 to be installed on your system"
I have Word * 2010 * installed. Is there some way to get Adobe Acrobat Standard 9.0 to recognize the Word 2010?
Also,
Does anyone know of a way to export comments into an excel spreadsheet?
Thanks,
Tim

Hyroof,

Are you trying to just collect the comments? Or take a marked up PDF that started in Word and export the PDF Comments back to that Word doc?

If you only need the comments, you can Summarize the comments (Comments > Summarize Comments) then choose File > Save Aa. At the bottom under Format select Microsoft Word Document or Tables in Excel Spreadsheet.

If you are trying to send the comments back to Word to import them as Word comments Office 2010 wasn't supported with Acrobat 9. Check this article: http://blogs.adobe.com/thesamepage/2009/08/acrobat_and_word_for_commentin_1.php. See Supported versions of Microsoft Word in the 3rd paragraph.

Kelly,
Ideally I am trying to collect the comments that i created in Adobe Acrobat and export them to MS Excel for further calculations. I use adobe acrobat to take scaled measurements and calculations of objects which creates comments. I would then like to export these measurements(comments)to an excel spreadsheet. If this is not possible than i was trying to export to a word document. Because MS Word 2010 is not supported, it sounds like Word is not a viable option. Any help exporting to excel would be most helpful. Thank you.

If you have Acrobat 9, then it is possible to connect your PDF directly to a local DB, using a custom-made script.
Alternatively, it's also possible to create a script that exports the contents of the comments as a CSV file, which can later be imported into your DB.

If you're interested in any of these solutions, you can contact me personally to discuss it further.
