Leopard and Browser-Based Reviews

We use a WebDav server for browser-based reviews. It will not allow a Leopard user to upload a PDF for review. Something in our firewall or network settings is blocking the Authentication login prompt. Our error message reads:

"Unable to upload (URL).pdf

If you are saving a file off to a file server volume that needs authentication, the dialog asking for name and password has been blocked.

Please login to the file server before uploading the file."

Has this happened to anyone?

Troubleshooting I've tried:

- The user is logged into the server.
- I tried the configure button in the Uploading The PDF step and it brought up an empty box. (there was no repository to select).
- I went into the preferences>Reviewing, and hit the Configure Automatically button under the webDAV/server settings and it brought up the same empty box.
- We implemented an auto-sign for the User's network name/password on the local computer hoping that would trick it into the authentication process, but no go.
- I have also installed the last Acrobat upgrade (8) and that didn't help.

**We have multiple Tiger users using all the same settings and system and it works no problem.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Thanks. -Jackie

Is this computer using 8.1.2 or later (this was the first version to support Leopard)?

Can this user browse the server outside of Acrobat? Are they using the same browser as the others?

Yes, they have complete access to the local network our repository is on outside of Acrobat, and we all use Safari as our web browser when sending Browser-Based Reviews.

Try manually entering the WebDAV server and in the Server Settings field, type the URL/URI using the IP address of the web server, as in the following example: http://161.43.237.41/WebDAV/.

Note:The ending back slash is imperative in the URL/URI or this address will not work, because this is the URL/URI naming convention for a WebDAV store. The host name can also be used, but if DNS fails, the host will be unreachable. This applies to both Windows and Mac OS platforms.
