print markups

Hi,

I mark up pdf docs with the various annotation tools in Acrobat Standard 7.0.9 and send them to other people. When they print them, they need to select in the print dialogue to print document and markups. As simple as this is, some don't know how to do this. Is there a way to lock this into the document when I create it (embed it) so that selecting to print document and markups is not required? I don't know if the recipients of these documents have Reader, Acrobat or whatever. I'm assuming they at least have Reader.

Thanks

My Product Information:
Acrobat Standard 7.0.9, Windows

Hi Stereo_rob,

The ability to print comment is a print setting that is determined by the user. There is no way to force this through the document property.

The best way to ensure that the comments are printed would be to use Acrobat Professional and flattend the annotations using the Preflight feature.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for your reply. As I mentioned in my question, I am using Acrobat Standard. I searched the help screens of my product for the things you mentioned, and apparently they're not included in Acrobat Standard.

However, I did find a workaround to my problem, that maybe of value to others with Acrobat Standard.

After you annotate the pdf document, save it as a postscript file(.ps), and open it with Acrobat. Acrobat will open it as a pdf file. Now, save it as a.pdf file. This new file will have your annotations embedded into the original pdf file, and the user will print with your annotations no matter what they try. Hope this helps others.
