Printing highlighted comments

I do a lot of my research with pdf files, highlighting important passages as I go. In 6.0 (if I remember) and in 5.0 (for sure..) I could then print out the actual highlighted text comments on hardcopy. It was a great way for me to gather what I thought was significant in the doc. In 7.0 Pro, I can't find a way to do this and am burdened with having to view whole pages, which is very distracting, or even worse, spider lines all over the place. Is there a possible solution or am I going to have to do all my reading in 5.0? best

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 7.0.9, Windows

Hi kweimer,

Not sure if this is what you are after, but in the File Menu there is an option "Print with comments summary..." In the dialog that opens from choosing that menu item there is an option for "Comments Only" in the Choose a Layout section. Once you check that radio button and click OK you will see a new print dialog that has a preview of your comments as they will print.

Hope that helps,

Dimitri

Thank you Dimitri, for your response. Sounds like I was a little vague about what I am looking for. Yes, you're correct, you can print comments, but only comments. Oftentimes I highlight things that seem interesting or useful as I'm reading but there doesn't seem to be any way of getting a concise printout of the highlighted text itself. Highlighted text does not get printed, only the fact that a highlight was made. In earlier versions of Acrobat the actual highlighted text would show up in the printout, which made it very easy to review documents. With 7.0 you actually have to take the time to make some sort of "comment", simply highlighting gets you nowhere. Currently, all I get on my printouts is a T icon with the color of the highlight, name and a date, none of which is not terribly useful. But thank you for your response.

Actually, there is a way to prin-out only the highlighted text. From file menu you should go to: Edit>Preferences>Commenting and you should select both: 'print notes and pop-ups' and 'Copy selected text into highlight, Cross-out, and Underline comment pop-ups' and click OK. After this every text that you highlight will be imported into its comment and you will need to print the comments as it is mentioned above by Dimitri.
Probably, it will not be useful for your current job with the mentioned document, because you should reselect the highlighted fields again in order to import the selected text into the comment, but it will be very useful later on.
I am using acrobat professional 8.1, but I think it was the same in 7.0.
