saving just highlights

I am using Acrobat Pro X. I have a document already highlighted and I would like to save just the highlights as a separate file or if that can't happen then print just the highlights.

When I tried to "Export All to Data File" I end up with a file with extension .fdf. When I open it it's just a pdf that is exactly the same as the original pdf with the highlights.

I don't have MS Word, I use Open Office.

Okay, so I screwed up my initial post and couldn't edit it so please ignore and let me try this again.

What I want is just the highlighted text from my pdf. Either to print or in a text file.

I installed MS Word 2002 then later when that didn't make any difference I tried MS Word 2010 Student edition and here is what I did with Acrobat...

----------------------------------
First solution:
Highlighted text
Chose "Create Comment Summary" from the Options dropdown and chose
"Comments Only"
"All Comments"
and unchecked "Pages containing no comments"
Clicked "Create Comment Summary"

What I got was an fdf file which opens with Acrobat which has the comment title and page numbers and several listings like this:
Page: 3
Author: User Subject: Highlight Date: 8/27/2011 9:41:44 AM

but no comments.
---------------------

2nd solution:
Highlighted the document and under "Comments" chose
"Export to Word"
I get an error message that says:
PDF is not tagged. And something about changing conversion settings I am assuming in MS Word. I did not make this file with MS Word, I got it already in a PDF.

Am I doing something wrong? Alternatives? Suggestions?
