selective flattening of annotations

My users want to be able to selectively flatten annotations on an individual basis. Any suggestion to get me started? The options for document or page flattening are too comprehensive. Thanks in advance. Some sticky notes should be flattened others not, for example.

Hi jallis,

Creating a droplet with Acrobat Pro. 8 might be a simpler method to flatten annotations. You need to use the Preflight tools in Acrobat 8 Professional. Prior to running the droplet you can hide the annotations that you don't want flattened. Here is how you can create the droplet:
1. Select Advanced > Preflight
2. Open the PDF fixups label and select Flatten annotations.
3. Select Edit profile if you want to Flatten annotations based on show/hide.
4. Click Fixups and then select the Edit Fixups button.
5. Select the Type, Action, and When for flattening annotation and select Save.
6. Back on the Preflight menu select Options and choose Create Preflight Droplet.
7. In the Droplet Setup dialog box you can choose a folder location when you would like the files saved or a report.
Select Save and name the droplet -- you can store it on your desktop for easy access. A blue arrow with a magnifying glass will appear.
8. Drag your files to the icon and drop them on it.

Hope this helps,
Lori
