I have started a Share Review with two peoples and one of the two receiver after having downloaded the PDF don’t see the usual yellow bar on top. Yes, Javascript is enabled for this user in Acrobat 9. We are all on Mac. Any idea what can cause this for that particular user?

Were you using Acrobat.com or an internal server to track the shared review comments? If it was an internal server, make sure the permissions on the network folder are set correctly.
Also, if the deadline for your review has expired, the recipients won't see the comments.

Hi Lori...

We were using acrobat.com . Recently for no obvious reasons that person was able to connect and push/pull comments.

But then when she start a share review, one of her participant was unable to push/pull comments, but was able to participate on a live page sharing & chat. Really strange. Because e are on a deadline, we have switched to a manual workflow sending PDF and FDF. That's sad...

Was this a few weeks back? If so, it may have been related to a service issue a few folks were experiencing using Acrobat Forms and/or Reviews on Acrobat.com. As a result of these errors, forms or reviews were no longer be getting updated with new responses, or be displayed as having an error in the Tracker in Acrobat or Reader. To fix the error, please follow the instructions below:
1. Download and unzip the Fixit utility
Windows: http://forums.adobe.com/servlet/JiveServlet/download/2433124-29300/FixitWin.zip
Mac: http://forums.adobe.com/servlet/JiveServlet/download/2433124-29296/FixitMac.zip
2. Close all open Acrobat windows
3. Run the Fixit utility. This may take several seconds if you have many reviews or forms. The utility has no user interface, so it is normal for it to show an empty window while running.
4. After the utility has finished running, open the Shared Review or Form document in Acrobat that was not working properly.
5. Check for New Comments (Review) or Responses (Form).
6. You might see an error that says that the review is corrupted when you open the Review. Ignore that error and Check for New anyway. Checking should repair that error.
7. If after trying these steps your form or review is still broken, please contact us the Acrobat.com team at acrobat [dot] com_feedback [at] adobe [dot] com.

We had nearly the same issue today. A user sent a shared review from Acrobat 9 Pro to a group of people. One of the users could open the form with Reader 9 but didn't see any shared review functionality. No yellow comments bar, and, according to her, no Publish Comments or related commands under the Comments button in the main toolbar. The PDF was sent via attachment and the comments were hosted on an internal WebDAV server.

I was unable to do a complete forensics on this because the sender freaked out after the thing didn't work and deleted the shared review from the WebDAV host using the Review Tracker. I did get to see it work fine on internal machines and I was able to access the WebDAV host from an external off-network computer. We also use the same host and process with other clients and it works fine, so I don't think it was an access issue.

We never use Acrobat.com for the shared reviews because we can't guarantee all recipients are on version 9 of Reader or Acrobat.

Any insight for me?
