Shared Review does not work for recipients with Acrobat Pro

I am trying to test out a collaboration scenario. I've tried using a folder on an internal server, as well as a Sharepoint workspace.
Problem 1: 2 recipients who have the full Acrobat Pro 9 can open and leave comments, but they are not connected to the shared review and therefore have no option to publish their comments.
Problem 2: 1 recipient with Acrobat Pro 8 was able to publish comments, but I (as initiator) am not able to see them.
Please help!

It is not listed in the dropdown list, but I'm on Acrobat Pro 9.4.3

1) This is a moot point. If they are not registered with the shared review they cannot post comments. What's the issue?

2) Do you mean that Acrobat is not updating your copy of the PDF if comments posted from Acrobat 8? or do you mean you're not seeing them in the tracker?

Commenting and review (collaboration) has changes with every version of Acrobat, meaning that collaboration in every new version of Acrobat was slightly incompatible, especially when it comes to the UI. In fact, the underlying mechanism has not gone through many major changes. It hasn't changed much, whereas the UI has changed a lot.

1.) Let me be more clear. They SHOULD be part of the review, as their emails were included in the invitation sent by Acrobat. They recieve the email and click on the attachment, but they are not initially asked to sign in to the review, and they don't see "Check for New Comments" or "Publish Comments". It's as if they opened the file from their own desktop. One colleague suggested that Acrobat Pro overrides the shared review features, but it clearly states in the default email that participants can use v8 of ACROBAT or Reader to share.

2.) Both. I've gone to their desk and watched them publish comments, seemingly without error. Then I go back to my own desk and I have no record of them doing anything.

Thanks for the help, by the way.

Is everyone on the same version of Acrobat? Reader or Pro?

The way you've described this it sounds like a Reader vs Pro issue. But with documents that are enabled for comment and review this difference shouldn't matter.

1) Get the same users to open the review doc in Reader and see what happens. They should download Reader 9, not X, so they are using the same version where the doc was enabled for the review.

2)look in the folder that has been setup for the shared review. This is the comment repository. I will contain XML files that hold the actual comments. Have one of the users post a comment and see if the appropriate file changes. If it does not change then Acrobat never sent the comment.
