Text Size and Color not showing up in properties of text box

When you right click Properties, click the Apperance tab and you should see the options for the font and size.

When I right click properties, the appearance tab has the following settings: style (of the border dashed, solid, etc.), border color, opacity, thickness, and fill color. However, there is no option to actually change the text itself. I would like to change the color of the text and make it larger. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Ok so I just realized that the text that I am trying to edit is inside of a "text box". The "Text Box Tool" is located under Tools:Advanced Commenting. So, Am I actually adding a comment? Is there a way to format this text or is there a better way to add text to an existing PDF? What I am trying to do is to take a scanned image and add captions to it. Surely I am not the first person to want to do this. If anyone gave give me suggestions on a better way to do this, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Instead of creating a Comment using the Text Box Tool you can use the Touch Up tool to add new text. This way your insertions won't appear as comments. You can do this by the following method:
1. Select the TouchUp Text tool.
2. Ctrl-click/Option-click where you want to add text.
3. In the New Font dialog box, select the font and mode you want, and click OK.
To change the font size and other attributes, select the text, right-click/Control-click, and choose Properties. To move the text block, use the TouchUp Object tool.

Simply go to View>>Toolbars and check Properties Bar. A Text Box Propoerties bar will open. Then, you have to double click the text in the Comments Text Box to make the Text Box Properities bar change to a Text Box Text Properties bar.
