I have just reinstalled Adobe CS3 Suite (with Acrobat 8 Professional). Also, did an automatic update to version 8.1.0. On Windows XP Pro (on a very robust Dell system), all of a sudden my performance opening up Acrobat PDFs has gone to Hell and back. Yikes! For about 5 seconds I see a secondary phantom Acrobat 8 window on top of the main window as Acrobat is churning.
Not sure if it is the QuarkXPress Print Collection 1.1 (Imposer for QXP and Acrobat) that caused the problem or the update or what...
Has anyone seen this?
thank you,

ps - the other Adobe CS3 apps work like a champ!
One potential problem is if you have the Tracker set up to read RSS feeds and you loose your Internet connection. Acrobat will fall to a snails pace. Double check your performance with a live internet connection, then disconnect and compare the performance. See if you notice any differences.
If that's not your problem, then something else is going on. You'll need to poke around a bit and see if you can provide us with some more information.
