I'm running Adobe Acrobat 8.1.2 on Mac OS 10.4.11 with plug-ins for Fusion Pro, PitStop, and Kodak Prinergy. Every time I quit Acrobat, instead of quitting normally and saving all of my settings, it gives me a "the application Acrobat has quit unexpectedly" error. This wouldn't be that big of a deal except that I have to set up all of my toolbars and preferences over and over every time I launch Acrobat. There are 6 other macs in my department with more or less the same set up and more than half of them have the same problem. I haven't been able to find any documentation of others having this problem which is surprising considering how many of the computers here are having it. I recently wiped my hard drive and reinstalled everything but it's having the exact same problem that it was before. A couple of the machines here have Acrobat 9 installed and we don't have this problem with it but switching to 9 is not a valid solution for us as not all of our plug-ins are compatible with 9.
It might be worth ensuring all plug-ins are up-to-date - e.g. Pitstop 7.52 was the latest version with Acrobat 8.x.
Another option if the crash is regular - disable two plug-ins and just run with one ... try the binary-chop and work-out which is the culprit.
It's a little messy but hopefully the above might help?
All the best,
Jon
I've been using Acrobat since v1.0 and still get amazed by its power. An Acrobat ACE since 1999
