Trying to run repair acobat installtion. installer dialogue box appears then nothing. Also tried on numerious occasions to intsall 8.1.1 upgrade does not work

Deactivate Acrobat (click Help, Activate, Deactivate).
Uninstall Acrobat.
Inspect the Systems Registry (regedit) to make sure Acrobat is not referenced.
Run a disk cleanup and defrag.
Re-install Acrobat, download all updates.
Note: You must be the registered owner of Acrobat. Have the Acrobat CD available. Have installed all Windows updates.
