Hi,

I am using Reader 9.2 and IE 6 and trying to view a PDF file from the web browser. This pdf file is created through a web application but when I try to view it, I get an error saying File Not Found. My collegeau is running IE 7 and Reader 9.2 and can open the file fine through the internet so appears not to be an issue with the file name or anything.

I have tried the following:

1. Opening Reader 9 and resetting the display in web browser option (Ie unticking, exiting, reopening and reticking the option)
2. Clearing temp files and internet history
3. Repairing Reader 9.2

None of this options help.

Any suggestions?

My Product Information:
Reader 9.2, Windows

Are you using double quotes around thepath/filename of the PDF that is passed to Adobe Reader. If there are spaces in a path/filename, Adobe Reader will not parse it. To correct the problem, the application launching the PDFs needs to embed literal double quotes around the path/filename.

When I'm in Acrobat Reader 9, you can choose "help, allow or block." Before I could click on "allow" and it would take me to the website of the hyper link in the document. Now, I have to open a .pd document with Internet Explorer as that's the only way I can get to the website that is hyperlinked in the document. I was always able to click on "allow" and be taken straight to the website of the hyperlink in the document, but now I have to open the document with Internet Explorer in order for the "allow" option to work. Why would this option quit working for no apparent reason; very frustrating.

Hi Corinne -- can you repost your question on a brand new post in the General forum instead of this one.
Thanks.

thanks for the reply. We have removed spaces from the filename and it now appears to be opening correctly in IE6 and reader 9.2.

As we can not control what our clients use as their setup we need to test on all different setups so hopefully this is the only issue we have.

thanks again
